This is my very first blog on my very first website! I’m overly excited! The idea of starting a blog has been dwelling in my mind for over a year, and now I finally made it happen!
The reason that I’ve been thinking this over and over is that I wanted to figure out a purpose of doing it. I’m a bilingual. Chinese is my first language and I acquired English as my second language as an adult, at the age of 24, to be exact.As I journey along with language learning, I often find myself compare and connect the two, in terms of cultures, values and assumptions, differences between the two nations, and so forth. I would say this process was intrinsically natural and happened in a more subconscious way than it actually comes to my awareness. It opened up my mind to boarder views, exposed me to variety of information, and shaped my way of thinking as well. So I thought, why not blogging in two languages? Thus a wider range of people would be able to read and understand what I’m trying to communicate.
So here it is. I finally get down to it. I can’t wait to share the things that I’m passionate about with the world, through this blog, through two languages.

這是我在這個博客上發的第一篇文。實在太激動了！想要開一個雙語博客的想法已經在腦海中盤旋了一年多，現在終於實現了！
我一再考慮的原因就是想要明確我做這件事情的目的。我是一名雙語者。中文是我的母語，而英文是在我成年後才習得的，確切一點說，是在24歲的時候。在我學習語言的過程中我經常發現自己在比較與聯繫二者：從文化上，價值觀念上，和兩個國家的不同上。這個過程是自然而然發生的，而且更多時候是在一種潛意識的作用下。它為我開啟了通向更多維的觀點的通道，獲取更多樣化的訊息，也在一定程度上改變了我的思維方式。所以我想，為什麼不用雙語來寫博客呢？這樣的話更多的人可以讀到我想要表達的東西。
就是這樣，我終於邁出了這一步。我已經等不及要和大家分享我所熱愛的一切，通過這個博客，通過兩種語言。
